Within the events for the opening of Peabody Essex Museum’s
new exhibition, Wedded Bliss, The Marriage of
Art and Ceremony, - an exhibition which explores
the wedding as a source of inspiration for the creation
of art in cultures around the world - Tiziana and Gianni
Baldizzone will present a slideshow, celebrating diverse
cultures and wedding traditions presented in their book
Wedding Ceremonies: Ethnic Symbols, Costume and Rituals,
and discuss some of their more recent projects, followed
by a question and answer session moderated by Peabody
Essex Museum curator of textiles and costumes Paula Bradstreet
Richter, also the curator of the new exhibition Wedded
Bliss, The Marriage of Art and Ceremony.
